Fitch Affirms Korea Credit Rating at AA-, Outlook Stable

FITCH AFFIRMS KOREA AT AA-, OUTLOOK STABLE

Fitch Ratings maintained Korea’s long-term foreign and local currency issuer default ratings at AA- and AA, respectively.  The affirmation reflects “Korea’s resilient growth” notwithstanding a slowdown following the Sewol ferry disaster, “moderate government debt and sustained budget surpluses”, moves to reduce public sector debt, and “Korea’s external finances which continue to strengthen”.
